The past little while has been busy with weddings as one would expect--just played at a venue outside of Oshawa called Trillium Trails recently that had a lovely outdoor setting for summer weddings. Anyway, for those of you who may be making some last-minute wedding plans, I do have a couple of weekends still available for weddings in August and September. If interested, feel free to send me an e-mail at kate@kate-macdonald.com or give me a call at 647-883-7075 for more information.

Hello!

Just checking out my news section and realized that I've neglected my updating duties...okay, abandoned might be a better descriptor. However, in my defence, I recently finished a Master of Information Studies (a.k.a. library and info studies) at U of T, and during the past two years, when I wasn't reading scintillating articles on metadata for school while cramming in my harp playing time, this blog unfortunately fell by the wayside.

But just to let everyone who drops by the site know, I am still here in the Toronto area ready to play for your weddings and other events, and I do still have some dates open for weddings this summer and fall. For inquiries, please feel free to send me an e-mail using the contact form provided on the contact me page.

I just thought I'd let anyone who wants to contact me through my site that the e-mail form on the "Contact Me" page really does get to me; however, you need to ensure that your contact information is correct otherwise I have no way of getting a hold of you. I recently received an e-mail about a wedding but when I tried to send a response, the e-mail address was not recognized as valid. So to the person who recently sent me a message regarding a wedding next August, if you're reading this and haven't gotten a response, please try again!

Thanks!

Since moving to T.O., I've been thinking it would be fabulous to get in touch with some other musicians who would be interested in starting a duo or band to play for fun and possibly to start playing some events together. I don't have any real preferences as to what instrument--fiddle, guitar, etc. So if you've happened across this site and would be interested or know of anyone who would be, feel free to send me an e-mail.

It's been awhile since I've posted any updates, so I thought it was about time. As some of you may have noticed, thanks to Scott Rathbone I have a brand new website that replaces the old one, which I hope you'll enjoy.

Other than that, I'm still enjoying my time here in Toronto since moving here in the fall. In particular, the harp lessons I've been taking with Sharlene Wallace have been both a lot of fun, challenging, and informative. If any of you are interested in taking up playing the harp, I'd highly recommend Sharlene as a teacher!

By this point, I've now been in Toronto for a little over a month after the big move from Winnipeg. I'm really enjoying it here so far, in spite of the dire warnings from various Winnipeggers about the evils of big city Toronto.

Other than that, I don't have too much in the way of harp news or updates to the website, except that I'll be taking some lessons with Sharlene Wallace. I'm excited to start lessons again, and when I learn some new songs, I'll try to post them to the site.
